General Rules for Both Horse Shows:

1. Entry Fees: Pre Registration $8.00 per class by 9/12/08.  Post Entry one time $10.00.

2. No return entries on show without vet or physician certificate.

3. $25.00 fee for bad or returned checks.

4. Leadline entries may not enter W/T or W/T/C classes.

5. All ponies are 14.2 hands and under.

6. All horse require Coggins within 1 year and proof of up to date rabies.  Papers can be mailed in with entry or will be checked before unloading Equines on Fairgrounds.  No EXCEPTIONS.

7. Stallions shown by adults only 18 and over.

8. All horse that kick require Red Ribbon on its tail.

9. All riders under age of 18 must wear approved ASTM-SEI Helmet while mounted on grounds.

10. Anyone 18 or over must wear an approved ASTM-SEI Helmet or sign waiver.

11. Show Management and/or judges decision final.

12. Unsportsmanlike behavior or cruelty to animals will not be tolerated.  You will be expelled from Fairgrounds without refund.

13. Severe Bites or equipment prohibited.  Manager/Judge reserves that decision to excuse from class or fairgrounds. 

14. Any horse being unruly and/or out of control of the handler/rider may be asked to leave the Fairgrounds. 

15. If equipment or tack should break and the rider is able to finish the run without any injury or discomfort to the horse the run will be considered complete.

16. Loss of forward motion, knocking over a barrel, falling off the horse onto the ground, not using a proper pattern, knocking down a pole are all reasons for disqualifications with not time.

18. Decision is final by judge and/or manager if animal is not fir to show.

19. NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE FAIRGROUNDS.

20. Appropriate attire is mandatory for both shows.  Heel must be 1 inch NO SNEAKERS.

21. Classes must be paid in full before the class or leave blank check left at secretary’s booth.

22. Scratching class must be made 1 class before class begins or you will be changed for that class.

23. Age as of January of show year.

 

Classes: Pleasure Show

Ribbons: 1-6 places all classes.

1. Open Fitting and Showmanship 12 and under ~ Entries to be shown in hand and with out saddle.  English horses may be shown in a bridle or a halter.  Western horses must be shown in a halter.  Class will be judged 50% on showmanship and 50% on grooming, conditioning, and appointments of horse and exhibitor.  Exhibitor must dress in hats or helmets, boots, and gloves appropriate for their discipline. 

2. Open Fitting and Showmanship 4-H ~ To be judged using 4-H rules.  Only 4-H members are eligible for this class regardless of age + mini. 

3. Open Mini Fitting and Showmanship ~ To be shown in hand without saddle.  English Horses may be shown in bridle or halter.  Western Horses must be shown in halter.  Class will be judged 50% on showmanship and 50% on grooming, conditioning, and appointments of horses and exhibitor.

5. Open Halter Western ~ Open to any horse regardless of age or breed.  Will be required to move at a walk and a jog.  To be judged on confirmation, soundness, and way of going.  Horses may not cross enter in any other halter class.

6. Open Halter Eastern ~ Open to any horse regardless of age or breed.  Will be required to move at a walk and a jog.  To be judged on confirmation, soundness, and way of going.  Horses may not cross enter in any other halter class.

7. Open Mini Halter ~ Open to any mini.  English mini can be shown in bridle or halter, western mini must be shown in halter.  Will be required to move at the walk/trot/jog.  To be judged on confirmation, soundness, and way of going.

8. Lead Line Equitation 8 and under ~ Rider must be lead by a handler 18 years and older.  Rider to show reasonable control of mount and handler remains at the mounts shoulder.  Walk and Trot/Jog will be asked.  Judged on rider’s form, proper seat, hands and aids, Diagonals count only in case of a tie.

9. Lead Line Pleasure 8 and under ~ Rider must be lead by a handler 18 years and older.  Rider to show reasonable control of mount.  Judged on horse’s soundness, manners, and way of going.

10. Lead Line Trail 8 and under ~ Rider must be lead by a handler 18 years and older.  Walk, trot and may be asked to back.  May have small jump under 12 inches.  Rider must show control over mount and handler must stay at mounts shoulder.  Course to be posted.

11. Open Mini Trail ~ Open to any mini: to be run the same as Walk/Trot trail.

12. Walk Trot Equitation 12 and under ~ To be shown at the walk and trot/jog both ways of the ring.  Class will be judged on rider’s form, position, proper seat, hands and aids.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals count.

13. Walk Trot Pleasure 12 and under ~ To be shown at the walk and trot/jog both ways of the ring.  Class will be judged on horse’s soundness, manners, and way of going.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals count.

14. Walk Trot Equitation 13-17 ~ To be shown at the walk and trot/jog both ways of the ring.  Class will be judged on rider’s form, position, proper seat, hands and aids.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals count.

15. Walk Trot Pleasure 13-17 ~ To be shown at the walk and trot/jog both ways of the ring.  Class will be judged on horse’s soundness, manners, and way of going.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals count.

16. Walk Trot Equitation 18 and over ~  To be shown at the walk and trot/jog both ways of the ring.  Class will be judged on rider’s form, position, proper seat, hands and aids.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals count.

17. Walk Trot Pleasure 18 and over ~ To be shown at the walk and trot/jog both ways of the ring.  Class will be judged on horse’s soundness, manners, and way of going.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals count.

20. Walk Trot Challenge– Non Pointed ~ Step to a Canter– A chance for walk/trotters to try cantering at a show.  Rider’s will canter one or two at a time, for a length not to exceed once around the ring.  Will be run same as walk/trot Pleasure class. Non Pointed.

21. Open Command Walk Trot ~ Ro be shown at a walk and trot/jog.  The judge will give a command and exhibitors will have three seconds to perform that command.  Any exhibitor who does not perform the command within three seconds is eliminated and will go to the center of the ring.  Last rider remaining will place first.  Diagonals will not count except in the event of a tie between two English riders.  Open to any walk/trot rider regardless of age. 

22. English Equitation Adult ~ Open to rider’s 18 and older.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on rider’s form, position, proper seat, hand and aids.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

23. Western Equitation Adult ~  Open to rider’s 18 and older.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on rider’s form, position, proper seat, hand and aids.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

24. English Equitation Junior ~ Open to rider’s 17 years old and younger.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on rider’s form, position, proper seat, hand and aids.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

25. Western Equitation Junior ~ Open to rider’s 17 years old and younger.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on rider’s form, position, proper seat, hand and aids.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

26. English Pleasure Adult ~ Open to rider’s 18 and older.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on horse’s soundness, manners and way of going.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

27. Western Pleasure Adult ~ Open to rider’s 18 and older.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on horse’s soundness, manners and way of going.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

28. Eastern Pleasure Junior ~ Open to rider’s 17 years old and younger.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on horse’s soundness, manners and way of going.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

29. Western Pleasure Junior ~ Open to rider’s 17 years old and younger.  To be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope both ways of the ring.  To be judged on horse’s soundness, manners and way of going.  May be asked to back.  Diagonals and leads count.

31. Open Trail Walk Trot ~ Entries to be shown at the walk, trot/jog over and through a pre-described course of obstacles similar to what you might encounter in real trail.  Horse’s may be asked to walk or jump over an obstacles not exceed 12 inches, and may be asked to back through an obstacle.  Open to all walk/ trotters regardless of age.  Course to be posted.

32. Trail 4-H ~ Only 4-H members are eligible for this class, regardless of age to be judged using 4-H rules.  Course to be posted. 

33. W/T/C Trail Junior ~ Open to rider’s 17 and younger.  Entries to be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope over and through a pre described course of obstacles similar to what you might encounter on a real trail.  Horse’s may be asked to walk or jump over an obstacle not to exceed 12 inches, and may be asked to back through an obstacle. Course to be posted.

34. Open W/T/C Trail ~ Open to all rider’s 18 and older.  Entries to be shown at a walk, trot/jog and canter/lope over and through a pre-described course of obstacles similar to what you might encounter on a real trail.  Horse’s may be asked to walk or jump over an obstacle not to exceed 12 inches, and may be asked to back through an obstacle. Course to be posted.

35. Open Mint Julep Walk Trot ~ Will be run same as W/T pleasure class except you will have a paper cup full of water.  The rider who finishes the class with the most water in the cup places first (kind of similar to the egg and spoon) Open to walk/trotter regardless of age.

36. Open W/T/C Mint Julep ~ Will be run the same as open pleasure class except you will have a paper cup full of water.  The rider who finishes the class with the most water in the cup places first.

37. Walk Trot SitABuck (Your Buck) ~ Will be run the same as W/T Pleasure class except the rider will ride bare back with a dollar placed under his or her seat.  The rider who finished with the dollar still under their seat wins first place.

38. Open W/T/C SitABuck ( Your Buck) ~ Will be run the same as the W/T/C Pleasure class except the rider will ride bare back with a dollar placed under his or her seat.  The rider who finished with the dollar still under their seat wins first place.

39. The Tired Grooms Class (W/T may be led) ~ Will be held same as W/T Pleasure class, the groom may be assisted by a lead person over he age of 18 years old.

Classes may be split or combined if entries warrant. 

Walk Trot Riders may not cross enter to Walk/Trot/Canter except for class #17.
