RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING ALL ENTRIES ON LIVESTOCK

· All entries must meet Health Requirements as prescribed by the State Department of Agriculture.

· Rochester Fair requires that all domestic animals i.e. dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and sheep, etc. be immunized by veterinarian for rabies at least 30days before attending the fair.

· All registration papers must be checked for identity and age before showing.

· Each exhibitor must bring to the ring registration papers on all animals to be shown in the Get or Sire and Produce of Dam classes for identification purposes.

· No animal may be shown out of its age class.

· All registered animals must be shown in purebred classes.

· All animals must be owned prior to show date. 

· Animals registered in the name of one or more members of the same family, and entered from the same farm, may be shown in the Exhibitor's Herd, Dairy Herd, and Breeder’s Young Herd.

· No premium will be awarded unless the entry is meritorious.

· In case of entries with no competition, one half of the first place premium may be paid and then only, if in the opinion of the judges, the entry is meritorious and warrant recognition.

· Entries must be made on printed forms and in accordance with the instructions thereon, giving the class, lot number, animal’s age, record number, name and address of the breeder, and other necessary information required.

· No person will be allowed to converse with the judges during their examination except the superintendent of the department.  Animals kept on the same farm and owned by the owner or minor children of the owner may be entered in groups from the fair.  No Award will be given to an unsound animal

· The Association does not anticipate that it will be necessary to pro-rate or defer premiums but, if on account of weather, failure to receive state aid or other cause beyond its control, and there are not sufficient funds, the association reserves the right to do so.
